The car has been described as Bentley’s ‘most capable and performance-focused model ever.’

The 2022 Bentley Continental GT Speed has been revealed, with the Volkswagen-owned British brand describing the coupe as its “most capable and performance-focused model ever.”

Power comes from a retuned example of Bentley’s existing 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 petrol engine, sending 484kW and 900Nm to all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.6 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 335km/h.

For reference, the standard W12-powered Continental GT coupe sends ‘just’ 467kW to the ground, completes the benchmark sprint in a claimed 3.7 seconds, and can achieve a top speed of 333km/h.

The new high-performance coupe’s all-wheel-drive system has also been recalibrated to increase the amount of power sent to the rear wheels and, in a first for a Bentley, an electronic limited-slip differential has been fitted on the rear axle.

Meanwhile, new carbon-ceramic brake discs shave a claimed 33kg, while reducing the potential for brake fade on the track.

Externally, the Continental GT Speed looks almost identical to its lesser range-mates, aside from chrome exterior badging, tweaked side sills, a tinted grille, and 22-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the flagship GT is trimmed in leather and Alcantara (offered in 15 colours), while carbon fibre paneling and highlights are littered throughout.
