The small SUV’s boot may lower unexpectedly, according to the manufacturer.
Mazda Australia has recalled 2668 examples of its CX-30 small SUV, citing a potential fault with the auto-closing boot function.
The affected vehicles were sold between 8 January 2020 and 26 February 2021, all stamped Model Year 2020.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says: “The boot’s power liftgate may partially lower unexpectedly from the fully opened position when the vehicle is parked facing uphill on a slope in high ambient temperature.”
“If the boot’s power liftgate partially lowers while a person is accessing the rear storage area of the vehicle, the liftgate may contact them, increasing the risk of injury,” the notice continues.
