Now I don't want a Fiat Promaster 3.6- or a Ford Transit 3.7. . .I was paying attention to the interference engine aspect of buying used. . .But not the water pump/timing chain EXPENSE/RISK(why it's being sold).
scotty, Im thinking of buying a 2015 accord coupe 2.4 i4 cvt, is it a good reliable vehicle to purchase?, what about the cvt?
Valve adjustments are critical on the first-gen CR-V. It's not hard; you need a few basic tools. We had one for many years and I've done it several times. My son now owns it at 285k miles. They should be checked every 20k or so. The later engines, like the K24 in our second-gen CR-V, recommend checking it every 100k but they can usually go much longer.

2006 ridgeline I have has 204,000 miles , I replaced rad and timing belt recently but no major issues on it , only thing is fuel mileage is mehh 😕

It's usually not the shim wear that causes the need for valve adjustment it's the valve seat wear.
