I've been around lots of similar things throughout my life. Motorpool in the military, painting contractor, insulation industry, worked in a steel yard (galvanization is nasty), etc.
Prolonged exposure, as you said, and lack of using proper PPE overloaded my body with toxins it could no longer manage.
I've seen so many youtube videos of people handling some pretty nasty stuff without gloves, masks, ventilation, etc.
Great work on getting the word out! You have lots of followers and hopefully your experience/message can save some lives.
I've gone a step further with natural soaps, toothpastes, lotions and I've put filters on all my shower heads due to chlorine, which is about as toxic as it gets.

Cameran niemela. I also got diagnosed with luekeamier 10 weeks ago jus finish 2nd round of chemo an this video has inspired me to get through this now and its mad how my symtoms exactly same. I had fallen off my dirt bike weeks before an winded my self bad an wen my pain started weeks later i thought it was that. then i get told its cancer aml acute myloid lymphoma to be exact . now im not allowed to ride 😞 butt my bike has never been so clean. I found this vid wen i sub to you because a video about tips on polishing alloy. 😷💪👊🏁
