Excellent video. Some of the early 12A engines also suffered failures due to the extremely thin rubber seals on the rotor housings failing. These would start to perish & allow water to get into the combustion chambers – something similar to a very bad head gasket failure. Then the engine would over-heat & warp the rotor housings, sometimes needing new rotor housings and a completer engine rebuild. Sometimes the housings could be used again if they were machined. Spark plugs did not last long either & always needed anti sieze paste on the threads just like aluminium cylinder heads. Some of those early 12A engines would fail by about 30,000 miles due to the over heating issue.

i bought a mazda RX7 years ago when i was getting 5 or 6 gallons of fuel for only 10box, when u was going 2super market down the road n back about 10miles all the fuel was disapeard i was looking under the car 2c if thrs any hole under th tank of fuel n thr was no hole, tht car really ruined my life for cpl of years thn i sold it half price for $2500 but i was feeling really sorry 4th guy who bought it n i lost 2years of fixing th car n i lost $2500 n tht was a nightmare tht i still like 2share th story with people, i was a new iranian immigrant n i was trying 2set up a new life n get away out of th mess in th middle east but i got into such a mess instead, every time i c a mazda i remember about my nightmare n I'll never touch a rotary car ever again, i didn't expect mr scotty advertise this junk technology which it cld b good only 4 jets but i'm not gono ride a plane if i no tht it has a rotary engine 😡
Great smooth/fast Racing Engine, to bad not so much for the daily (heavy) driver though. I'll keep my 6. HA.
