Regarding the knock sensor, my 2002 Merc Villager had a bad knock sensor code which failed Washington State emissions. All I had to do is to go to a state certified shop and spend $150 for a check, I get a waiver and get my registration. My understanding that this is common with a lot of codes and multiple codes too. Those emission laws are a joke
What about the wind blown sand. Like sandblasting your paint.
