    Good tips….in my 20s, engine swap on Chevy truck with gas tank behind the seat, shoved bolt in gas line (no clamp), finished for the evening noticed gas smell so left mandoor open to vent, the detached garage had 2 water heaters, after watching Johnny Carson went out to lock up, entered garage and almost choked from the fumes…the whole time I was gone the fuel line dripped, large pool of gas under the truck…VERY lucky I didn’t burn the place down….lesson learned!!!!!

    Ive been know to tie a rope onto the hood and tie it back to the rear bumper so it will stay up out of the way. Depends on the hinge design.
