Over on AutoHunter, driven by ClassicCars.com, you’ll find this 1981 Fiat 124 Spider 2000 convertible open for bidding. It is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual transmission and was restored in 2010 by its previous owner.
During the restoration, the body was refinished in its original dark silver metallic and the black cloth soft top was replaced and is equipped with a plastic rear window and tan leather boot cover.
According to the seller, all the brightwork is in good condition, including chrome door handles and headlight bezels, windshield trim, and bumpers. You’ll find Pininfarina badges on the rear quarter panels and Fiat badges mounted on the hood and deck lid. An ANSA exhaust system with dual chrome tips are also equipped.
The interior is fitted with bucket seats upholstered in a tan leather with matching door panels and center console. The black dash features a wood face accent that is also found on the center console, shift knob and 3-spoke Nardi steering wheel. During the restoration, the previous owner also upgraded the radio to a classic-look head unit with Bluetooth, CD and auxiliary inputs.
Instruments on the dash include an 85 mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and an analog clock. The odometer reads 46,000 kilometers, the distance driven since the restoration. The seller has added 10,000 kilometers during five years of ownership. True total mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
Under the hood is the 2.0-liter 4 -cylinder DOHC engine original to the car and that was factory rated at 102 horsepower when new. During the restoration, both the engine and 5-speed manual transmission were rebuilt. Recent maintenance to car includes a rebuild of the fuel system consisting of new injectors, fuel lines and the addition of a pre-pump filter.
