American off-roaders and SUVs continue mostly unchanged, aside for some updates for the Wrangler and Gladiator.

Jeep’s current showrooms around Australia are stocked with relatively fresh metal, including an updated Compass, new Gladiator and the reasonably-new Wrangler.

The ‘JL’ Wrangler range is set for a shake-up in 2021, with a new blacked-out Night Eagle specification joining the ranks. The Sport S also returns as the cheapest Wrangler variant, which is currently priced from $51,950 in Limited (two-door) configuration.

While the short-wheelbase Rubicon returns briefly in limited-run Recon specification, Jeep has culled the diesel-powered Wrangler Rubicon from the ranks.

An entry-level Sport S variant of the Gladiator will also arrive in the first quarter of 2021.

That means all Wranglers are powered by the same long-serving 3.6-litre petrol V6, which makes 209kW and 347Nm.
