The year 2020 marked the arrival of two fresh models for Ford – first, the overhauled Escape medium SUV in late 2020, followed closely by the all-new, European-made Puma compact SUV.

The former only made up nearly 3 per cent of the brand’s sales in 2020, outdone by Ford’s more popular large, ute-based SUV, the Everest.

Of course, Ford’s Ranger dual-cab ute continued to be its top seller, with news the relatively new Wildtrak X variant will continue into 2021 with a host of aesthetic updates for the new model-year.

We also saw the Fiesta nameplate return in the form of the gutsy Fiesta ST hot hatch – sold as a single, turbocharged, manual variant in Australia – which appealed to a small but passionate buyer base, attracting 183 customers in its first (albeit not full) year on sale (as of November 2020).
