I bought a 1999 Toyota Camry with 246k miles for 3 grand a couple years ago because at that price point, I don't trust any other manufacturer. Car now has 295k and it still shifts smoothly, engine is pretty quiet, and it's not even bumpy. Rides better with almost 300k miles on original suspension parts than the 2015 Accord I was driving for a while. Not even Honda with their interference engines and automatic transmission issues are as well made as Toyota.
Manual trany is the best solution.
