The Japanese small car scores price rises of $750 to $1400, depending on variant.

Prices of the Honda Civic small car have risen for the final months of 2020, with price increases across the hatch and sedan ranges by as much as $1400.

Mid-spec Civic VTi-L variants have seen the largest rises, increasing in price by $1400, while Honda’s sport-oriented RS models stay closest to their previous prices, coming in $750 dearer than before.

Entry-level VTi and VTi-S variants have risen in price by $1000, while the flagship, non-performance VTi-LX can now be had for $1200 more.

The sole trim grade excluded from the recent price increases is the hero Civic Type R hot hatch, which retains its $54,990 before on-road costs sticker.

While pricing might have increased, standard equipment on offer with each variant hasn’t changed – for a full breakdown of what’s on offer, click on the links to read our previous, more in-depth pricing and specification stories for both hatch and sedan body styles.
