You should probably change your channel name then.
I was a FF for a little over 3 years. It was in AZ as well. My friends dad was the chief and I lived with them so I had to join. I hated it. 70% medical calls 29% tc calls and 1% fire calls. Didn't think about it at the time but I have never been one to love chatting with others in mindless banter. Didn't really fit in.
Left the fire dpt and went to a police academy. Loved it and fit in so well there. Right after graduation 2009 our former president cut funding for emergency services and that job was gone. Ahhh life. Now I do IT work. Haha.
This video has helped me a bit thanks. I am at a fork in the road with my career (staying as a residential counselor or going back to fire), and its refreshing to hear that im not the only one that was bored by and hated station life. I still miss the job as you and others but this video i believe helped me get pointed in the right direction… anyways thanks.
I also have tried out a few jobs/careers that were not my thing. Being a law clerk, for example, was totally not my thing. Lawyers and me just don't get along: cats and dogs, apples and oranges.
I've been a first responder for about 7 years. There are a lot of people that want to do the job and think they can do the job but as soon as the shit hits the fan they begin to rethink their career choice. If you can't mesh with your fellow responders then you need to step down. Don't get someone hurt or killed because you can't step up to the plate when needed. I respect you for giving up the job but you need to really do some self-reflection before joining another side of the responder field. I enjoy the videos you post. Please just keep on keeping on.
Being a firefighter just didn't fit u but being a you tuber and helping people in ur own way did keep doing what ur doing

Dan look into a volunteer station if they have them where your at best of luck brother I've been a ff for 7 years volunteers are needed all across the country
