Insurance is bad in BC for everyone. ICBC is crown controlled and our only option. Most provinces have a private or mixed model making it much more modest. Generally anyone under the age of 25 in Canada gets hosed; however, I was only paying $90/month (basic coverage) in ON and am paying $150/month (comphrensive) in BC.
