As a man that suffers from depression and anxiety, it is disheartening that such a large event, both in participation and fundraising would exclude riders. But, because this cause means so much to me, I still chose to raise money.

Ok, I have a serious problem with this! Your duke can’t ride the distinguished gentleman .? I have a 2019 KTM 6 days 450. A famously named bike with roots in Enduro and Scrambles., the bike in essence is a Scrambler bike. And are you saying my stunning bike, with roots back to early hare and hound scrambles Will Get A Negative On The Invite. They have a triumph scrambler listed., if this is the case it’s misleading

We have 2 Air Ambulance Run's a year which we take part, No one is pushed out. any one can take part. They need the money to keep going, because our government won't help them and they do such a good job. I also support "Help the Heroes" which is dear to my heart. Your Gentleman's ride would collect more money if they didn't keep people out and i thought that is the main reason, We get the Police on board to help out, why can't they do the same. (Go talk to them D G R). Have a great weekend, take care to you and family 🙂

Just an observation. When you participate in these events, count the number of political representatives that show up, if for nothing else to press the flesh and discuss what's happening on the legislative front. I participate in veterans support rides and each year they invite our representatives and the local VA director and every year they're no shows. These events are great grass roots efforts but if our government continues to ignore these issues (e.g. even after billions spent the VA is still a mess) then the needs will continue be under served or go completely unmet.

    It’s a double edged sword.

It is great that the DGR has grown to what it is, but on the other hand it seems to have become a victim of its own success.

I have registered for my local ride, don’t know if they will accept me and my bike.

TOG, this is an easy fix. You have spent years in community theater, correct? What is a huge part of theater? Hair & makeup, smoke & mirrors, make something look like something else, right? Grab a sheet & draw a Bonneville on each half, then toss it over the old Super Duke. WaLa, you're now a part of an over exclusive club. I think hundreds of non-Triumphs should show up in disguise. Has anyone suggested these promoters are looking a bit motorracist against non-Triumphs ??

It's unfortunate they did this… Was actually (secretly) hoping to do this with SFW. But nope, our Triumph bikes aren't niche or "gentleman" enough for them now either, apparently. 🥳

DGR was not a charity when it first started. They decided to partner with a charity when they realized how fast it was growing. I think they’ve done a great Job with the organization and it shows in their numbers. I personally don’t have a triumph, I have a custom cafe racer. I think people that have the right bike for the ride are pleased with the restrictions while people that don’t will be salty.

Not sure where you are getting your information but anyone can ride no matter what bike you have. And second, I don't blame them for preferring classic bikes and not sport bikes. The fuckery that I see from sport bike riders shutting down highways and stuntin in the public…no thanks.
