Several years ago, I bought a DeWalt cordless (12V). Now, I realize that they aren't making the replacement batteries anymore, so when the batteries wear out, it's useless. The drill will outlast the batteries. Now, I am wiser.

And, no, I'm not going to rebuild the old battery packs, unless a suitable replacement cells are readily available.

Devalt and black and Decker are made by same company

I bit the bullet and got the got the dealt drill / impact combo kit while it was on sale for 250$? Never have to buy another drill again..

I've got a Ryobi cordless drill that must be 20 years old and still works fabulous. I got the 18V lithium ion batteries for it when they came out and they improved it's performance significantly. I have a few other Ryobi cordless items like a hedge trimmer (who wants to drag a cord all over the yard?) and a reciprocating saw. The saw would drain the old NiCd batteries in a hurry but the lithium ones last much longer. Less expensive than the Dewalt/Makita/Porter+Cable stuff, but better than the no-name stuff. It's got enough torque in driver mode to almost snap my wrist. Has a useful torque clutch too.

True…I bought used one for 20$ almost 2 years ago and still working with it?

I still prefer Dewalt. I'd rather pay a little more.

Pretty sure Scotty is pushing so many products in so many videos, as he is about to retire and cash in his Camry and move to Florida.

Of course Chinese rip off American engineering all the time. Go figure no surprise there we all are looking for a knockoff that works
