Had a friend get an oil and filter change at Wal-Mart. Six hours later we are on the side of the highway with a smoking vehicle. The technican had not screwed the oil filter back on properly!
Wal-Mart’s insurance paid for a nice SUV rental for a month until the money for the totalled car came in.
Plus, now not safe for shopping in Walmart… After 22 dead people ….

Yes! I can vouch for this. Years ago when money was real tight I had a little Mazda pickup that I bought used. I would take it to jiffy lube, but I needed a cheaper option. Never had an oil leak before I took it to walmart. I never bothered to check the plug, but I'm assuming they messed it up..Many oil changes later and the leak was still there.
No dealership will pay 25 dollars an hour for a new technician you likely to get 15 to 18 the old mechanic get 25 more if your a diesel mechanic it's all commissions flag hours . This is why I dumped that idea and decided to start driving class a truck's the pay is great and way better then being a greased up mechanic changing oil all day they have no work the guys at wallmart do a fine job scotty leaVe them alone
I came to Walmart for service in my 2017 Lamborghini and left Walmart with 2001 Corolla
I get my oil changed at Walmart. I set up appointments and sit and watch every time and bring my own oil. It's so cheap that, to me, it's worth going and not getting underneath the car myself.
