A bug with the fuel readout could leave Stelvio and Giulia owners stranded on the roadside.
Alfa Romeo has recalled the 2017-2019 Giulia and Stelvio, over concerns about an over-reading fuel gauge.
According to the company, the “instrument panel shows more fuel than what is actually present in the fuel tank”. If drivers run out of fuel, the engine will cut out, putting drivers and other road users at risk of an accident.
A total of 1683 cars are included in the recall – a VIN list is attached here.
Alfa Romeo will contact owners of the affected cars and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership. A copy of the original recall notice is attached here.
