We had something like this on a smaller scale in Springfield Illinois but it was only around like 6 months and the owner shut it down because the insurance was too expensive for how many people were actually using it. Or atleast that's what he says. But it's sad. A lot of newer cars aren't really meant to have the oil changed on a standard jack. Takes so much longer to drain. A lot of up and down is involved. Something like this would help tremendously. Wish it would stick around here..
Used our bay while I was stationed at Ft Drum in NY. It's been a dream/goal of mine to be able to open a shop where I live to offer the same service. Totally worth it for the lift access alone. Good job Block
My dad has always been more mechanically inclined than me. I can do some wrenching, but I trust him more than I do myself. Definitely need something like this around my neck of the woods.
When I was in the military I use the DIY all the time, save lots of money plus learn and at the same time hows things work in your car.
This is sick. Never even thought of this before.
There's one of these here just outside of Omaha, NE in Bellevue. It's called "DIY Garage"
In 2018 a couple are sitting on the couch after a monumental dinner. Husband says to wife "Hey,we should start a shop that has a dedicated area we can rent to DIY oil changes,tires ect.". Wife says "Terrific, we could prolly get that going. It'll take a lot of work though". Husband nods and grunts a little as he hits his fresh pen (you all know what I'm talking about 🙂 hehe). All was forgotten in mere seconds.
I had no idea this was a thing and forgot all about even talking about it.
Just as as you were explaining the DIY garage I was thinking we had these at all military bases and lo and behold the owner explains his military connection!! Yes these are great for the DIY mechanic who needs more just a driveway to some repairs.
