A hybrid version of the recently released Chevrolet Corvette is in the works. The question surrounding its place in the model’s future lineup has been answered. The how’s and why’s, however, remain a mystery at this point. An electrified Corvette is also in consideration, though that model won’t arrive for a while if it does at all. But a hybrid version is in the works; as it is, Chevrolet is looking to come up with configuration solutions on how to properly fit an electric motor that can work in concert with the Corvette C8’s new V-8 LT2 engine. Compromises will undoubtedly have to be made to make sure that the increased weight that comes with the addition of an electric motor and battery pack doesn’t undercut the extra power available to the C8. We’ll know more as details come together, but with the convertible version of the Corvette C8 expected to arrive soon, it’s possible that the hybrid version will be in line soon after that.
