You should buy an older, 2004 or 2005 Mazda 6 sedan with the 2.3 L four-cylinder engine with 160 horsepower and a four-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability.
I have two of those broke down in my driveway.

Rubber stuff…Oh how right you are. Even on a great Toyota, stuff deteriorates with age. I had a greart 1996 Toyota Camry that just started falling apart after 12 years.
Chevy's quality seems like it's been going downhill since the 90s a family member of mine bought a brand new 2019 Cadillac Escalade fully loaded of $80,000 within three months of ownership went through four sets of motor mounts and two sets of tranny mounts thay got rid of it and now has an Infiniti QX 45 it has been way more reliable and hasn't give thim any problems
I don't agree with you saying don't use a 20+ year old car for daily driving. I have a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood with the LT1. Other than replacing some seals from where the elderly lady I bought it from was letting it sit, I've never had any major or even moderate problems with it. It's how well a car is maintained whether it last and all vehicles require maintenance old and new
Scotty could you replace my lifters and possibly the cam shaft if I bring you my ram 1500?? It's got the hemi tick and it's causing a misfire due to the cam shaft being so scorn down now.
100% I will be going to this man's funeral.
