In this video I make a quick backyard smoke machine and use it to find vacuum leaks on a 2004 F150 with a 4.2L engine. A smoke machine is a great tool to have, because sometimes a small vacuum leak is alot more tougher to find than one would imagine.

I haven't done it, but I was wondering how a smoke bomb that you can get at your fireworks stands would work. Seems like it would be much safer than an open flame. I used to hold them in my hand as a kid. Plus you could use different colors and I would think that would be much more visible.

Great video but I would have suggested putting charcoal and cardboard together would have kept a nice smoke going

A cotton rag should smolder well enough without any baby oil! Keep it to grease your baby.
