Full-electric, all-wheel drive race car to debut at the Nismo Festival.
Set to debut at the Fuji International Speedway alongside Nissan’s Formula E racer as part of the annual Nismo Festival, the Leaf Nismo RC uses the same high-capacity lithium-ion battery and inverters as the regular Leaf.
Powering the Nismo RC is a pair of electric motors which, when combined, produce 240kW of power and 640Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels through an all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring.
Thanks to a full carbon-fibre racing monocoque structure, the Leaf Nismo RC tips the scales at 1220kg, impressive for an electric car. It’s even more impressive when you consider the standard car’s 1557kg kerb weight.

On the outside, the Leaf Nismo RC sports a unique version of Nissan’s V-motion grill, an adjustable rear wing and a two-tone silver and black paint scheme with signature red highlights.
In perhaps a sign of how quickly technology moves in the electric car world, the Leaf Nismo RC makes more than double the power and torque of its predecessor.
Only six will be made, with Nissan planning to deploy the cars around the world as part of its Formula E program.
