Off-roader styling and increased ride height, but no all-wheel drive
The Ford Focus Active wagon has joined the small car’s range in Europe, growing the company’s line of psuedo-crossovers on the Continent to four.
Like the Focus Active hatch, the wagon variant features off-roader styling, although there’s no mention of all-wheel drive. So, like the hatch, the Active wagon seems to be a front-wheel drive only affair.

Design differences compared to the regular wagon include revised front and rear bumpers, plenty of grey plastic and silver highlights, more prominent side sills, and wheel arch protectors.
To give the car a little bit of off-road ability, Ford has added Slippery and Trail options to the Active’s selectable drive modes. The Active wagon’s ride height has been raised by 30mm at the front, and by 34mm at the rear.
Depending on the grade, the Active wagon either rides on 17-inch wheels paired with 215/55 tyres, or 18-inch rims fitted with 215/50 rubber.

In Europe the Active wagon is offered with two turbocharged petrol engines: a 92kW 1.0-litre three-cylinder, and a 110kW 1.5-litre four-pot. An 88kW 1.5-litre turbo-diesel is also offered.
Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
Available features include Sync 3 infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bang & Olufsen sound system, hands-free tailgate, adaptive cruise control, parking assistance, and adaptive headlights.
