DIY Car Repair – 2018 Honda Clarity (Hybrid) First Oil Change.
In this video I highlight my first oil change on the Clarity, a car I bought new in March of this year.
As of right now it has just over 14 000km, almost all of which have been done on electric power only. But given the gas motor has run (and the car is 6 months old) I decided to spend the $40 or so on oil and a filter and do the change.
As I mention in the video it is no different than any other car, other than the floor is completely flat (and/or covered in plastic), so finding a place to support the car while under it was a little interesting but doable. Check out the video for details!

I have 3500 miles and 90% of it is from EV. I am holding off on the oil change until the maintenance light comes on. I get one free oil change from the dealership so I will save it for later. The dealership suggested that I change oil every 3k but I think they’re trying to make more money from their customers. The engine barely comes on it would be a waste of money to change oil every 3k.
