Apple CarPlay now standard across the range, as is the flagship infotainment system and a head-up display.

BMW Australia has announced some running equipment upgrades for its X1 and X2 crossover ranges, headlined by enhanced technology and infotainment features.

Available from October production, with deliveries to commence from January 2019, all versions of the X1 and X2 now get wireless Apple CarPlay integration as standard equipment – previously a $479 option.

In addition to the smartphone mirroring technology, all X1 and X2 models are now equipped as standard with the larger 8.8-inch Navigation System Plus infotainment system combined with a head-up display.

Previously, these features were reserved for higher-spec variants or offered as part of an option package.

Rounding out the specification changes are new 19-inch alloy wheels for the entry-level X2 sDrive18i, which previously sat on 18-inch rims,

BMW has also revised pricing for certain models, with the X1 sDrive20i now available from $50,900, while the xDrive25i is now $60,900 – savings of $3700 and $600 respectively.
